Does sound wierd, so is funny, compared to sausage sandwich, baloney sandwich, salami sandwich, etc.

A snorkel is an inanimate object, so teaming it with "sandwich" rates at least a chuckle; also I bet that Joan in Cleveland makes a delicious snorkel sandwich.
