If you lay the condom flat, it will be like plate glass. Do you think Joan puts the used condoms in the freezer? I assumed she just stored them in the fridge (squeezed out into a jar).

This would make more sense if you squeezed out the condom into a baking pan or cookie sheet. Then you would have "glass" when it froze.
